Scholarship Awards
Panhandle Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (PTCI) shall award up to twenty-five (25) scholarships of $1,000 each for the 2027 academic year. A committee of the PTCI Board of Trustees will select award winners based on academic record, future promise, and financial need.
This total includes two (2) scholarships specifically designated for students enrolling in an accredited technical school, vocational school, trade school, or certified apprenticeship program.
PTCI announces scholarship awards in early May of each year. Winners must accept their awards for use during the upcoming academic year.
Eligibility
- Residency Requirement: Any graduating senior residing within the PTCI Cooperative service area who is a child or full dependent ward of a parent or guardian is eligible to apply.
- Academic Status: Applicants must be qualified for admission to an accredited college, university, trade school, vocational school, or certified apprenticeship program.
- Application Completion & AI Usage: The graduating senior must complete the application independently. Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) may not be used to write or heavily generate application responses or essays. All submitted content must be the student's authentic, original work.
- Ineligibility: Dependents of PTCI employees or trustees directly involved in the scholarship selection process may not apply.
Applications
Applications must be submitted online no later than January 31, 2027. The selection committee will not consider late applications or incomplete submissions missing required materials.
Obligation of Scholarship Holders
To receive their scholarship funds, recipients must be enrolled as full-time students or enrolled in a certified apprenticeship program during their first semester of study.
Liabilities and Rights
Neither the PTCI Board of Trustees nor the scholarship selection committee shall be liable for the debts or conduct of scholarship holders. Recipients have no right to anticipate, assign, or transfer rights acquired through a scholarship award. The PTCI Scholarship Committee reserves the right to make exceptions, interpretations, modifications, and amendments to these provisions as it deems appropriate.
